Research and planning advert: Drafts of advert
I believe that the drafting process was extremely important. Drafting allowed me to experience various styles whilst in the construction process to finally find and create the final product which would be conventional to our chosen genre (Dance). Moreover, it enabled me to receive vital feedback from my teacher as well as the audience to put the improvements into process in order to meet the targets and expectations set by the audience as our main objective is to appeal to our target audience.
Within the process of drafting we created two adverts. From the feedback from our first advert we were able to identify that it was not going to appeal to our target audience and create success as we expected. We also decided that it wasn’t conventional to the dance genre.
Draft number 1
The good points:
- Availability and other information is evident
- The name of the album stands out well
- The structure and layout looks more professional
Improvements:
- The typography isn’t conventional to the genre
- The use of colours isn’t conventional to the genre
- Editing uses takes away the enhancement on the artist image
- The key information such as the album name, artist name etc is clear for the audience to see
- Artist image is represented
- Use of editing is conventional to the genre
- Use of colours and location is more appealing
Improvements:
- Increase the side of text
- Include key singles
- Include artist name
For our final product we had to ensure our advert consisted with all the key information such as the artist name, album name, release date and some key singles that is evident within the album.
Research and planning digipak: Drafts of digipak
Within the process of drafting we created two adverts. From the feedback from our first advert we were able to identify that it was not going to appeal to our target audience and create success as we expected. We also decided that it wasn’t conventional to the dance genre.
In total 3 drafts had been created for the digipak in order to get all the correct information gathered together and ensure that the combination of all the pictures were consistent and appealed to the audience.
Draft number 1
The good points:
- Contains some of the information needed
Improvements:- No clear representation of artist image
- Do not use images from the internet
- The use of typography isn’t conventional to the chosen genre
- Add more key information
Draft number 2:
The good points:
- Artist image is clearer
- consistency in the images
-
Contains all the information needed
Improvement:- Black box needs to be removed on front cover
- Editing on the front cover isn’t clear
- The front and back cover don’t complement each other
For our final product we had to ensure that our digipak contained all the key information such as the images of the artist, the track list, a barcode, the artist name, the album name and the name and logo of the record label
