Personally, I adore the song choice that we decided to use as our final idea as it consists of themes which is extremely common amongst teenagers and young adults, therefore I believe everyone can relate to it in some way
Our music video will show resemblance to Goodwin's theory as the lyrics that take place within the song will pair up with the visuals we present. Also, the editing that occurs in the music video will also match the pace of the song.
Moreover, we will also be including Dyer's theory as we are presenting both of
our main characters with Star image through the use of lip-syncing.
The song my
group and me have chosen as our final idea is 'Revolution' by the artist Diplo
and Kai as our productions final idea. The lyrics, which consist within the
song, are:
Can you see it?
The worst is over
The monsters in my head are scared of love
Fallen people listen up!
It's never too late to change our luck
So, don't let them steal your light
E eh eh eh
Don't let them break your stride
There is light on the other side
And you'll see all the raindrops falling behind
It's a revolution
Make it out tonight
It's a revolution
It's a reva, rev
Can you see it?
The worst is over
The monsters in my head are scared of love
Fallen people listen up!
It's never too late to change our luck
So, don't let them steal your light
E eh eh eh
Don't let them break your stride
There is light on the other side
And you'll see all the raindrops falling behind
It's a revolution
Make it out tonight
It's a revolution
It's a reva, rev
Oh oh, ooo oh, oh oh oh
Oh oh, ooo oh, oh oh oh
Oh oh, ooo oh, oh oh oh
Oh oh, ooo oh, oh oh oh
Rev, rev, rev, rev
The song is about loosening up in life and taking chances that may not have a means to an end. The video reflects this theme, where a number of individuals show off their more wild side and show experiences that consists in their lifestyle. An example of this would be 'Love' and what occurs within it and which problems they may need to face and overcome
We decided that the female character will sing the first two verses as they will be performance based. She will be staring right into the camera whilst singing them and in some parts she will
be looking around the room trying to show of the emotions that she is experiencing
through her body language and facial expressions. Moreover, we then agreed on the chorus of the song to include the male character taking his anger out in the gym and include some flashbacks of how happy they used to be in their relationship before all the arguments started to arise.
After me and my group analysed
the lyrics of the song we were able to discover the themes highlighted within the song and the deeper meaning to them. For example some of the themes
which were evident within the song were: love, trust and break-ups. As a group we were able to identify a key piece of quotation from the first verse of the song. '' We decided that this could illustrate
her being miserable
and experiencing
negative events in her past relationship which makes her not want to fall in love with someone and have a relationship
with someone again. Therefore, we decided that in our music video we will ensure the female character is rebellious
at the end and doesn't
agree to accept her boyfriend back and moves on with her life. the monsters in my head are scared of love'' Our music video will consist of a aggressive male character and a very emotional female character, the two characters come to a disagreement within their relationship and we will be showing how each character deals with their individual emotions in a very distinctive way.
Short description of narrative: Our music video will begin with a couple arguing and the male character gets extremely angry and leaves the house. The audience then get to visualise the male character inside the gym taking out all his anger from the argument which just occurred and starts to think about all the problems that they encountered within their relationship which makes him even more furious. We then see the male character changing the way he acts and surprises the audience as he leaves a gift for the female character with an apology note. However, the female character decides to be rebellious and rips the note in half at the end of the video.
